The reader does have a kind of twang that makes it hard to follow. The book is available for reading if you want to try it that way.

Sorry, that's not a twang. My parents are from the South, and I get twang. This is severe mispronunciation to the point of, not distracting, but at points, requiring a translator. Who calls Trajan "Traw-hawn?" Who calls the Danube "Dan-yu-bay?"
